Lately, I have been struggling a lot with my faith, salvation and identity. I feel like the world is against me, and no matter how hard I try, I cannot win. I have blindfolded myself.

When you are saved, God gives you new eyes to see and a new heart to feel. Lately, I have been suffocating and blinding myself to the things of God because of my own guilt, pity, and selfishness. I turned away from the love of God and turned to the love of self. Although my spirit has been guiding me to do the right things, I do what I feel is more pleasing to myself. I blindfolded myself and I am now trying to see my way around in this dark hole. When in all reality I’m not in a hole, I’m just in a puddle. If I took the blindfold off then I would clearly know and recognize that. Do not be troubled when God gives you an obstacle that seems there’s no way around it. Even on your weakest days you are strong. God will give you the strength to keep going. Do not be too proud; you always will have a reason to stay humble. Just undo the blindfold and God will give you the sight to see your way out. He will give you the love and encouragement you need, to make it through. If you only depend on yourself, then you will truly fail. The only person strong enough to make it in this world was Jesus Christ, and even he gave up his life for you so you may receive help from the father just as he did. The Lord never abandons his children and he will NEVER abandon YOU!

“So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NLT)

No one is perfect. With that being said EVERYONE has a thorn at their side no matter how perfect they “appear” to be. God’s grace will sustain you through whatever trial you face. And always remember, when you feel far away from The Lord, it wasn’t The Lord who moved.

May God bless you and keep you always!
