This past couple of days have been tremendously hard for me. It’s finals week and with that comes anxiety and stress. Not only do I have to study for a test worth majority of my grade, but I need to pack, find a summer job/internship and make preparations for the fall. I have a tendency to not only look at the problems I am facing today, but also in the future. I live in constant worry of problems that haven’t even occurred yet, and friends that is NOT a life we should live!

Matthew 6:25-34 tells us of these very things.

As you read below, write down about some of the things you worry about. Are they really things that should control your minds and thoughts? Are they things that should take over our lives and our relationships?

25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

As I continue to go through finals week, I am more confident in God’s plan. Not to say that I shouldn’t study hard or slack off, but I know that if I do not pass or receive the grade I want, my life is not over. If the plan I picked out for myself does not work, God’s plan will! Friends, God’s plan for your life is much greater than anything you could design for yourself! God’s no may just save your life. As our father, God only wants the best for us, and with that comes discipline and guidance. We need to be obedient and dependent to the Lord. We need to give glory to our Savior and there is no better way to do that than with our lives! God loves us so much and at the very least we should honor him through the way we live.

Don’t stress about today or what hasn’t happened, trust in the Lord that he has you and will provide.

Stay Blessed!
